Having mobility is a crucial aspect of being healthy. If we are unable to move our joints freely through its full range of motion, then we are already putting ourselves at risk for injury before we even attempt to go for a run, play a sport or pick up a weight and load that range of motion.
Flexibility, which a lot of yoga postures target is the ability of your soft tissues to stretch. It is important but only a part of mobility. Restricted muscle cannot be released by mere stretching or flexibility.
Mobility is comprised of many elements that contribute to movement with full range of motion, including restricted muscle tissue, joints, the joint capsules, motor control, AND your soft tissue.
Join me Saturday mornings at 8:30 am for 75 mins as we tune into our bodies. Lets flow and self-massage our way into improved ROM, overall strength, decreased joint pain and reduce our risk of injury.

During this 75 min nontraditional flow we will combine yoga postures with calisthenics. Calisthenics is a great way to build up an athletic strong body, get more mobile and improve your coordination, stability and body perception. Mobility and strength are key in all skill sets. Practicing calisthenic movements will well prepare your tendons, ligaments and joints, helping you create a pain-free ROM (Range of Motion) and leaving you less susceptible to injury.

When we think of summer, we often associate it with things like tanned skin, warm nights, family vacations and drinks by the pool. While summer may bring all these wonderful things, it can also for many, bring on the unnecessary stress of looking good in our shorts and swimwear.

Equal attention will be paid to posture and transition, building on awareness of the energetic and structural benefits of Asana.
